If whisky is a historied drink, then Japanese whisky is the newcomer. Less than one hundred years since the first distillery opened outside of Kyoto, this whisky has had an impressive rise in the world. Though ranging widely in flavor and profile, these whiskies are based on Scotch profiles, and only debuted on the world stage about fifteen years ago.
